killifish

I have kept killifish.
Killifish is a fish that Japanese people observe and enjoy.

Also, it is used for studying scientifically
The length is a small fish of about 3.5 centimeters.
It lives in a small river or waterway whose flow is gentle, and eat zooplankton.
By one laying eggs, it lays about ten eggs.
It usually lays eggs from spring to the summer.
The small fish grows up from summer to autumn and lays eggs in the next
year.
We can distingush between male and female by watching its back. There is a cut on the back of killifish males and no cut on females.
The life of the killifish is said to be one year or so.
However, it is very difficult for us to grow it in a house and may die in
several months.
One hundred killifish have been born in my house, and have brought them up.
I spent happy days.

ぼくはメダカを飼ったことがあります。
メダカは日本人にとっては観賞魚です。
また、科学研究にも用いられます。
体長は約３．５センチメートルの小魚です。
流れのゆるい小川や水路などに生息し、動物プランクトンなどを食べます。
1回の産卵で、約10個の卵を産みます。
通常、春から夏にかけて産卵します。
小魚は夏から秋の間に成長し、次の年に産卵します。
メダカの寿命は約1年といわれています。
しかし、家で育てることはとても難しく、数カ月で死んでしまう場合もあります。
ぼくの家では、百匹のメダカを産卵させて、育てたことがあります。
